PostSubject: Level System for Shinigami   Sun Apr 04, 2010 6:23 pm

On this here fine RPG known as Seireitei, we have created a detailed leveling system to help you track the evolution of your character, and for you to have rewards for actually rping, and improving your character.  Though most likely confusing at first, our stat and level system should be fairly easy to pick up on.  It requires very basic math skills, and actually reading what is below Wink as WELL as reviewing our Stat System.  We recommend reading the level system first, as once you understand that, it will be that much easier to understand the stat system.

There are a few ways to level up:  By training, fighting, and by performing missions.  (Yes, we basically pay you to kill each other off. Twisted Evil )

To to level up via training, you must devote 1000 words, 2000 words, or 3000 words to training, depending on your rank (seated officer, vice-captain, or captain).  It must be an official training session with its own thread.  Once your session is completed, make an update in the Updates board following the standard update guidelines.

To level up via combat, you must be involved in a serious battle with another player's character.  Depending on the level of skill shown, assuming both characters are alive, both MAY receive a reward.  To gain the reward, you must make an update for the fight in the Updates board following the standard update guidelines.  The rewards for the battle will correlate to the level of your opponent, and how professionally it was executed (i.e. well-written and meaningful posts that show detailed thought, good rping sportsmanship, and a lack of nasty ooc arguments.).  In other words, make it worthwhile to read, and don't go for the victory immediately, or use a technicality to win, at least not immediately.  Drag the fight out a bit in order to put on the best show.  Otherwise, we cannot correctly gauge your rping skill, and the reward, if there even is one, will reflect that.

To level up via missions, you must seek out a Captain, or a Vice-Captain character within your division (or a supervisor for academy students) and ask to be assigned to a mission.  In a mission, a Captain or Vice-Captain can ask you to do things ranging from cleaning the barracks, to performing a soul burial on a plus, to demolishing a group of hollows in the human world.  The mission-giver has the right to assign time limits, and generally any other fair stipulation they desire.  Should you fail a mission, you will not receive the reward for doing it in MOST circumstances.  Once a mission is completed, you are to make an update in the Updates board.  The rewards for missions are up to the discretion of the person who assigned it to you, and the mod who reviews your update.  You will know what reward you receive at the end of every mission.  The mission's rewards will be scaled according to the difficulty of the mission, and how professionally it was executed (i.e. well-written and meaningful posts that show detailed thought, good rping sportsmanship, and a lack of nasty ooc arguments.  Make it worthwhile to read and all that jazz.).  Leveling up via missions is the best way to increase your character's level.  There will always be missions available, and the rewards are almost always greater than those of either leveling up via combat, or leveling up via training.  As such, the individual posts will be held to an even higher standard.

When you gain a level, you recieve 6 points to distribute across your Basic stats, and 3 points to distribute across your Sub stats.

On Stats:

Statistics (Both Basic and Sub) can be increased with certain techniques, but will always be watched for use violations.

Basic Stats are out of 200, which is the limit for all races for right now. (Some, like humans, may have even further limitations).

Sub stats are out of 100 which is the limit for all races.

Starting Levels For Shinigami:

A Starting Level is the level at which you are able to start a character off with during the Character Application process.  There are certain advantages to beginning with a high level, but the system has been constructed so that characters who begin at a lower level have the potential to become significantly stronger than those who start off at higher levels.

The first starting level is Lv. 1.  At this level, you get only 150 points to distribute across the basic stats. You also get 100 to distribute across sub stats.  Note, if you begin at level one, your character will be much stronger than it would become if it began from level 30.  Characters who start off at this level must go through the Shinigami Academy.

The next starting level is 30 (seated officers). At this rank you get 200 points to distribute across basic stats, and 150 to distribute across sub stats.

The next starting level is 50 which is lieutenant level (this does not mean you cannot become a lieutenant before level 50, nor does it mean you will be a lieutenant if you begin at this level). You’ll now have 325 points to distrubute across basic stats, and 200 points to distrubute across sub stats.

The next and last starting level for shinigami is level 70, which is Captain level. All new captains will be required to begin at this level. At this level you are allowed 400 points to distrubute across basic stats, as well as 250 to distrubute across sub stats.

Starting Levels For Humans:

The first starting level is Lv. 1.  At this level, you get only 150 points to distribute across the basic stats. You also get 50 to distribute across sub stats.  Note, if you begin at level one, your character will be much stronger than it would become if it began from level 30.  Characters who start off at this level must go through the Shinigami Academy.

The next and last starting level for humans is 30. At this rank you get 200 points to distribute across basic stats, and 75 to distribute across sub stats.  It will be RARE for human characters to start off at this level.

To advance a level, 1000 must be devoted to training if you are below level 50.  At level 50 and above, it takes 2000 words to level up.  At level 70 and above, it takes 3000.  Once you level up, you will get 6 points to distribute into general stats, and 3 points for sub stats.

Notes:

Leaders of organizations for non-human races, such as the Gotei 13, Espada, etc. will begin at level 100.  Such characters, due to the unfair advantage of having maxed stats, are not to be used to fight enemies of a significantly lower level.

There is a stat cap for all races. 600/355 for non hybrid races, and 650/360 for hybrids.  This is not ironclad, but is more of a general rule. Techniques can also increase these stats past these limits upon approval.

Level cannot be increased with any technique.

Captains and Vice-captains receive stat bonuses.  Captains receive 20 points to basic stats, and 15 to sub stats upon promotion or approval.  Vice-captains receive 15 points to basic stats, and 10 to sub stats upon promotion or approval.
